Late Abortion Care for Fetal Anomaly

Counseling & Consultation

"We have learned that patients don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."

--George R. Tiller, M.D. DABFP

Counseling
When you and your family arrive, you will meet other families who find themselves in a similar situation - having to make a difficult decision about the babies they love. These families understand the courage it takes to make this choice. They, in addition to the physicians, nurses, and counselors can provide emotional support.

Grief and healing are incredibly difficult. When you share the pain, you lessen the suffering. Dr. Tiller will meet with you frequently to help guide your healing and recovery. Our goal is to not only provide excellent medical care, but to aid you as you begin the journey toward emotional peace.

You will experience a wide range of emotions during your time at our clinic and in the upcoming weeks and months. We all grieve differently; there is no right way. We will offer you written emotional help materials and may be able to provide you with referrals to support groups in your home area. Also, there are many on-line support systems available to patients and their significant others.

photo Consultation
We provide our patients with extensive consent and consultation before beginning any abortion procedure. On the first day of your visit to the center, we will take your medical history, review the diagnostic information about your pregnancy, perform a sonogram, and give you additional information about the abortion procedure. Patients and their support people meet with other families facing similar circumstances and meet privately with our medical director.
